Read The Season

Scripture Anchor
Ecclesiastes 3:1
“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.”

Devotional Reflection

We don’t struggle with time as much as we struggle with timing.

During a difficult health season, a lift chair became a gift of grace. It helped when strength was limited. It held prayer and healing. But when that season ended, the chair remained. What once was necessary became a reminder of winter in what had quietly become spring.

Seasons have assignments. They also have expiration dates.

God uses illness, waiting, setbacks, and hidden seasons to shape us. But we are not meant to live permanently in what was temporary.

Solomon reminds us that there is a season for everything. Not forever. A season.

Sometimes discernment means asking,
What helped me survive winter that is now crowding spring?

Jesus never rushed, yet He was never late. He moved ready, not reactive. He waited when others demanded speed. He rested when crowds wanted more. He embraced hidden years before public ministry.

Reading the season requires trust.

Let winter be winter.
Let spring be spring.
And trust God with the timing.

Reflection Questions

What season am I truly in right now
Am I holding onto something that belonged to a previous chapter
Where might God be inviting me to release in order to make space

Weekly Practice

Identify one physical, emotional, or mental “lift chair” in your life.
Ask God if its assignment is complete.
Release it prayerfully if the season has shifted.

Prayer

God, help me read the season I am in.
Give me courage to release what was for yesterday and clarity to embrace what You are doing today.
Teach me to move ready, not rushed.
Amen.
